Dr. Michael S. Bank works as a Senior Scientist at Institute of Marine Research in Bergen, Norway, and an associate professor at the Department of Environmental Conservation, University of Massachusetts Amherst, USA. He does research in Environmental Toxicology, Ocean Health, Isotopic Niches, Marine Biology, Water Resources and Bayesian Mathematical Modeling. Specifically, his interests mainly focus on three principle themes: (a) How do contaminants affect organisms, including humans, (b) How can contaminants in ecosystem compartments be modeled using isotopic niches, Bayesian statistics and information theory, and (c) How can this information be used in a scientific translation and environmental governance context. He has more than 100 publications with over 5000 citations in the international journals in his fields. Dr. Michael S. Bank currently severs as an associate editor for Chemosphere and Environment Pollution, and is an Editorial Board Member of Environment Advances.
